All signs point to Taylor Swift’s Lover being another mega-seller. “The anticipation of this album is extraordinary, with pre-sales quickly approaching one million copies globally,” Republic Records head honcho Monte Lipman told Variety. That’s very good news for the superstar as she aims to become the first artist in history to have five consecutive million-selling debuts in the US. Reputation opened with 1.216 million copies in 2017, but album sales have petered out significantly since then. A number half that size would be extraordinary in 2019.

However, if anyone can pull it off, it’s Taylor. She is one of the few artists to comprehend that fans will still buy physical copies if they are accessible and collectible. As such, the 29-year-old has crafted four different deluxe editions of Lover, all of which will be released exclusively at Target. They come with audio memos, a poster, a lyric book and other exclusive content. There are also multiple merch bundles available on her website. (You can get the album complete with a pair of coffee mugs and necklace for the bargain price of $50!)

Taylor will also support the release with a last minute promo push including a live stream and an appearance on Good Morning America. For the sake of the album format, may her first-week sales be massive.
