5SOS Returns With 'Easier'
5 Seconds Of Summer introduces their 4th album with new single, 'Easier.'

They did it again! 5 Seconds Of Summer’s hot streak continues with “Teeth.” After dropping one of best pop/rock singles of 2019 with “Easier,” the Aussie quartet would be forgiven for falling short a little short on the followup. However, the guys push even harder — taking their sing-along sound in a darker direction. “Fight so dirty but your love so sweet, talk so pretty but your heart got teeth,” Luke Hemmings wails over industrial synths on the chorus. “Late night devil, put your hands on me and never, never, never ever let go.”

It turns out the track, which was produced by Andrew Watt and Louis Bell, is based on personal experience. “It speaks lyrically about a trying time in my current relationship,” Luke admits. “Musically it’s another step forward from ‘Easier’ and really embraces industrial sounds and rhythms.” He then talks about “Teeth” encapsulating the 5SOS ethos. “[It] captures the soul of 5 Seconds of Summer and I truly believe it is a unique song to us as a band and doesn’t sound like anything out at the moment. It’s my favorite song we’ve released ever.”

The band also rolled out the video today (August 21) and it’s a fairly harrowing experience that finds the guys taking part in a rather unpleasant experiment. Watch the Thibaut Duverneix-directed clip below. “Teeth” will feature on both 5SOS’ upcoming 4th LP and the 13 Reasons Why Season 3 soundtrack.
