UPDATE: Jason Derulo released a self-directed video for “Too Hot.” Check it out below.

The pop star embraces the Latin craze on sexy, new single 'Mamacita.'

Jason Derulo’s fifth LP, tentatively titled 2Sides, is slowly coming together. The enduring hitmaker has been chipping away at the project since at least 2017 and has already dropped half a dozen bops including smash hit “Swalla” and the Latin-embracing “Mamacita.” Ever the sonic chameleon, the 29-year-old’s next single dabbles in dancehall. “Too Hot” dropped last night (August 26) and it’s a summery banger with the kind of flirty, outrageous lyrics that only Jason can pulls off.

“You came to the club in the taxi, but I’m sure you’d prefer the Rolls,” he sings over island beats on the chorus. “So we could get changed in the backseat, because it’s summertime and you know it’s too hot for clothes.” Subtle. I haven’t seen the full songwriting and production credits, but I’m pretty sure “Too Hot” samples (or perhaps just interpolates) Chaka Demus & Pliers’ “Murder She Wrote.” In any case, it has a similar vibe. Which is a very good thing. Listen to Jason’s next hit below.
