Skrillex is back! The super-producer hasn’t released an office single since 2017. That changes today (August 29) with the unveiling of “Midnight Hour.” A collaboration with Boys Noize and Ty Dolla $ign, his latest is a rip-roaring banger. On it, the “Hot Girl Summer” rapper is seriously going through it. “I did my best. Wasn’t good for you. I was the best for both of you. Family and friends, they are close to you. Damn, it’s so hard to get over you,” Ty laments over mournful keys on the opening lines.

“Late in the midnight hour, you made the worst decisions. I was always there to listen. But this time,” he sings before the beat goes into absolute overdrive. “Let me talk.” All things considered, it sounds like the trio have a serious hit on their hands. Hopefully it’s also a sign that Skrillex has more new projects in the works moving forward. The 31-year-old reflected on the last few years in a thoughtful Instagram post earlier this week. “I spent the last couple of years filling out my cup ..these last couple years have felt like the longest years of my life because all I did was learn new things.”
