Camila Cabello Launches Her ‘Romance’ Era With “Shameless” & “Liar”

Camila Cabello officially kicked off her Romance era with a double dose of new music. Today (September 5), the “Señorita” chart-topper returns with dual singles “Shameless” and “Liar.” Perhaps unsurprisingly considering the title of her sophomore project, both deal with matters of the heart. Produced by Andrew Watt and The Monsters & Strangerz, the former finds the 22-year-old wrapped up in the fiery passion of forbidden love. “So many mornings I woke up confused. In my dreams I do anything I want to you,” she admits over moody beats.
“Right now I’m shameless. Screaming my lungs out for ya. Not afraid to face it. I need you more than I want to,” she adds. “Show me you’re shameless. Write it on my neck, why don’t ya? And I won’t erase it.” It appears “Shameless” is the focus track. Camila paired it with an accompanying video. Directed by Henry Scholfield, the ominous release serves looks, fire, a confession booth, some choreography and a multitude of Camila Cabellos. Meanwhile, “Liar” is a slinky anthem with a very lush sound. On it, the “Find U Again” diva is again lost in throes of romance.
“I said I won’t lose control, I don’t want it. I said, I won’t get too close. But I can’t stop it,” she coos over another production courtesy of Watt and The Monsters & Strangerz. “Oh no, there you go. Making me a liar. Got me begging you for more.” Ending with a brassy breakdown, this is another win. It’s easy to imagine either climbing the charts and netting Camila her next big hit.
