UPDATE: Wrabel’s one of those happy people arrived and is predictably fantastic. Give it a listen below.

Interview: Wrabel On Going Indie
We speak to the hitmaker about 'Love To Love You' and going indie.

Since parting ways with Epic Records, Wrabel has really come into his own as an independent artist. The singer/songwriter got the ball rolling in April with a pair of upbeat tracks — “love to love you” and “magic” — and now follows it up with a beautiful ballad called “flickers.” All three songs feature on Wrabel’s one of those happy people EP (due September 13 via his own Big Gay Records). It’s hard to pick a favorite, but “flickers” has the knife-to-the-heart quality of the “11 Blocks” hitmaker’s best songs.

“You grow up, paint a picture of your life like a fixture in your mind and it tricks you once or twice or three times,” he sings on the emotional chorus. “And I know it’s not right and I know it’s not fair, sometimes you fall in love, sometimes it’s not there. It flickers.” After showing his lighter side on recent singles, it’s somehow comforting to know that the 30-year-old is still adept at documenting heartbreak. Check out the full tracklist of Wrabel’s one of those happy people EP, and listen to “flickers,” below.
