Avril Lavigne drops the cinematic video for comeback single, 'Head Above Water.'

Avril Lavigne’s Head Above Water Tour kicked off in Seattle, Washington on Saturday night (September 14). While the Canadian pop/rocker performed focussed on the new album, she also churned through the hits. The 34-year-old dusted off “My Happy Ending,” reimagined “What The Hell,” revisited “Complicated” and — it goes without saying — belted out her signature song, “Sk8er Boi.” The hitmaker’s early material is well represented, but recent albums Avril Lavigne and Goodbye Lullaby get less attention.

In fact, Avril only gives us one song from each (“What The Hell” and “Here’s To Never Growing Up”). Hopefully, gems like “Smile” and “Wish You Were Here” are added later. It would also be nice to get a couple of deep cuts like the still-glorious “Fall To Pieces” from Under My Skin. Recent single “Tell Me It’s Over” was also curiously absent, but, all in all, this is a lean, mean representation of the superstar’s iconic discography. Check out the opening night setlist below.
