Black Box remains one of the most-loved and most-scandalous (more about that later) acts of the Italo House movement that captivated clubs in the late ’80s and early ’90s. While the Italian production outfit landed two US top 10 hits with “Everybody Everybody” and “Strike It Up,” “Ride On Time” remains their biggest song internationally by some margin. In fact, the Loleatta Holloway-sampling smash remains one of the most influential and highest-selling dance songs of all time.

It’s only fitting then, that it get a 30th anniversary remix package. “We wanted to commemorate the release with a special version,” Black Box mastermind Daniele Davoli explains. “So we thought we would produce a complete live orchestral disco version as Dan Hartman would have imagined it in 1979, we did it as a homage to Dan and Loleatta Holloway.” That’s a nice touch given that the group came under fire and were, using modern-speak, “canceled” for not crediting vocalists on their songs.

All three remixes are nostalgic and suitably disco-influenced. You can stream them below.
