Another Electro-Pop Gem: Tove Lo Drops “Sweettalk My Heart”
UPDATE: Sunshine Kitty is out, and Tove Lo is celebrating by dropping a video for “Sweettalk my Heart.” Check it out below.
Tove Lo’s 4th LP, Sunshine Kitty, drops on Friday (September 20) and I will be utterly shocked if it isn’t one of the best pop albums of 2019. After all, the singles and buzz tracks have been impeccable. The Swedish pop star kicked off the era with “Glad He’s Gone” — possibly the most underrated bop of the summer — and then followed it up with three epic collaborations. Tove reunited with ALMA on “Bad As The Boys,” jumped in the studio with Jax Jones for the sexy “Jacques” and then confirmed her status as an LGBT+ icon by teaming up with Kylie Minogue.
And now, a matter of days after dropping the video for “Really Don’t Like U,” the prolific hitmaker is back with another taste of Sunshine Kitty. “Tell me you love me, tell me you’re mine,” Tove purrs on “Sweettalk My Heart” over electro-pop production courtesy of The Struts. “Tell me I know it, don’t need a sign.” The 31-year-old then puts her heart on the line on the chorus. “Sweeter than love is the taste of all those promises, that pulls you in for good,” she sings. “Can’t get enough … sweet talk that shit, so good.”
