Iggy Azalea’s In My Defense LP only arrived in July, but the rapper is already plotting her next move. She jumped on Twitter last night (September 18) and dropped some hints about her next single. “I’m so excited about my next single,” the Aussie hitmaker tweeted, before revealing (in subsequently deleted tweets) that it is a collaboration with a female pop star and samples a song from the 1950s. We also know that the track does not feature Kim Petras or Charli XCX after a feisty exchange with a hater, who called them “dollar store pop girls.”

“I’m not collaborating with either of these girls but imagine calling either a dollar store pop girl,” Iggy replied. “I have to laugh. Kim is doing her own thing and Charli is a next level pop girl that the main pop girls really could never be.” No lies were detected in that tweet. I guess that means the door is closing on the In My Defense era. After all, the album has served its purpose. Namely of reinventing Iggy as a dynamic, independent artist with a unique vision. See her tweets below.
