Believe it or not, yesterday (September 22) marked the 25th anniversary of Friends. That’s right. The mega-popular television series is now a quarter of a century old. And Meghan Trainor celebrated the landmark moment in style. How so? The “Genetics” diva released a cover of the show’s theme song – “I’ll Be There For You.” Her version of the feel-good anthem (originally recorded by The Rembrandts) stays very true to the original. By that I mean it remains a serotonin-raising bop complete with handclaps and an electrifying instrumental.

Meghan opened up about the opportunity in an interview with Rolling Stone last week. In it she admitted to being a Friends mega-fan and shared her thoughts about the cover. “I can’t believe they even thought of me to sing this cover. It was a dream come true,” she gushed. The hitmaker also spilled the tea about her recording experience. “I actually cut the vocals in my backyard in my studio, with my little brother, my older brother, my husband and my best friend. And we were just all laughing and in disbelief.” Press play on her version of “I’ll Be There For You” below.
