She’s Coming! Kesha Teases Plans To Drop New Music
UPDATE: We have more details about new Kesha. According to a new Billboard profile, her LP is due around December. It also looks like we should expect a massive pop project. “I dug through the emotional wreckage,” she explained. What’s next? “I can go back to talking a little bit of shit. I really wanted to put a solid footprint back into pop music, like, ‘I can do this, and I can do this on my own.’ I don’t know if this is my last pop record, but I want to have one where I go out with a bang.”
Kesha also opened up about her connection to some of her enduring classics. “When I play some of the poppier songs, people lose their shit, and those songs are my babies too,” she said. “It brings me so much joy to see people boogie and have the best time with their friends, and I shouldn’t take that away from myself.” However, it looks like this project will plant feet in multiple grounds. ““Part of this album is resurrecting the fact that you can be a fucking mess in your head one day, and then you can also be glittered-up and have the best night of your life.”
She also explained her reasoning for leaning toward a brighter sound. “There was a time where it was really dark, and now I really am so happy, and that’s why I want to make happy songs – and as a distraction from the bullshit that’s going on, either in someone’s personal life or in the world. It’s time to sound the alarm because we have a pop emergency on our hands. What’s that? Kesha is getting to bless our ears with new material. The 32-year-old has already been pretty generous this summer. She kicked the season off by surprise releasing a timely protest anthem called “Rich, White, Straight, Men.” After that, she lifted our spirits with a high-energy remix of “Best Day” off the soundtrack to The Angry Birds Movie sequel. And it turns out that was a warmup for the “Tik Tok” legend. Today (September 26), she hopped on social media to promise that more is on the horizon.
“ANIMALS!!!! yall deserve to know first…..New Music Is Coming VERY Soon!!!! So excited,” she enthused. And Kesha is really feeling herself this time around. “Spoiler alert – I Got My Ball’s Back.” We’ll have to wait and see what exactly that means. However, I’m taking it as a sign that some bangers and possibly a follow-up to 2017’s Rainbow are coming in hot. That’s not all. She paired the news with a trio of gold-hued promo pics. In them, the brunette hitmaker shows out in a luxe outfit. And in a very on-brand twist she capped it off with an outlandish tiara. Welcome back, Queen!
