The Japanese House's 'Lilo' Video
Amber Bain returns to the music scene with a serene new single called 'Lilo.'

The Japanese House (AKA Amber Bain) already released one of the year’s best albums courtesy of Good At Falling, but it looks like she’s also going to drop one of 2019’s best EPs. At least if the just-released title track is any indication. “Something Has To Change” is the most relatable song I’ve heard in a while. A drowsy chill-pop anthem about bad decision-making and general inertia, this is noticeably less serene than Good At Falling standouts like “Lilo” and “Maybe You’re The Reason.”

“You got the same train and you took it back to the same place,” Amber begins the song over mellow synths. “You’re back where you started, it’s the same thing.” The Brit then delivers a hard truth on the gently catchy chorus. “You keep trying to do something different, over and over again — something has to change.” The Japanese House will support their album and upcoming EP with a North American tour. It kicks off in Austin, Texas on October 6 and then stops in most major cities. See all the dates and buy tickets here. Oh, and check out her impeccable new song below.
