Dua Lipa has been teasing the launch of her sophomore era for a while now. The talented 24-year-old spilled tea about it in several interviews over the course of the year. Most recently, British Vogue reported that we were a matter of weeks away from new music. And it looks like things are moving according to schedule. Today she hopped on Instagram to debut new strawberry blonde hair and to incite panic about her imminent return. “A new era,” she boasted alongside a trio of cute pics. “Thank you for your patience. See you soon.” The “IDGAF” diva also hash-tagged “#DL2,” making it clear that she wasn’t just referring to the updated look.

It’s worth noting that Dua also went blonde around the same time she linked up with Mark Ronson and Diplo on “Electricity.” Is this possibly a sign that her new album will have a similarly electro-kissed edge? Although we don’t know much about the project just yet, we do have some tantalizing details. The hitmaker promised it would feature plenty of sing-along material in an interview with Elle back in April. Meanwhile, she listed “Prince, Outkast, old Gwen Stefani and No Doubt” as sonic inspirations while speaking to British Vogue. The “One Kiss” superstar also said that the material “kind of feels like a dancercise class.” I’m here for that.

The only thing that would be more exciting is if Dua is able to lineup a star-studded collab with Bebe Rexha, Rita Ora and Ava Max. Bebe floated the idea at the beginning of the year, and all four of the artists (who are united by their Albanian heritage) expressed plenty of interest. We’ll have to see if they were able to line anything up. In the meantime, check out her latest update below.
