Camila Cabello Exposes The Dark Side Of ‘Romance’ On “Cry For Me”

Camila Cabello’s sophomore album is coming together very nicely. The 22-year-old introduced the era with a pair of dangerously infatuated bops – “Liar” and “Shameless.” However, she uncovers the darkest side of Romance on “Cry For Me.” Out today (October 4), her latest finds her picking up the pieces after a breakup. Only it’s infinitely harder to do while knowing her ex already moved on. And the “Havana” diva is not remotely pleased by that development. “When I said I hope you’re happy, didn’t mean it. Never thought you’d be so good at moving on. When I’m lying wide awake, you’re probably sleeping,” she growls.

Basically, the situation is entirely unbalanced. Luckily, she has a solution. “I want you to cry for me, cry for me. Say you’d d-d-die for me, die for me. And if you can’t then maybe lie for me, lie for me,” she commands. “‘Cause you haunt me when I’m sleeping, and it’s time you know the feeling. So cry for me.” Hopefully the blistering anthem gets a full single treatment because it’s both infinitely cool and painfully relatable. Thus it has serious potential to become a massive smash. As it turns out, Camila is likely already aware. “This has been one of my favorite songs off this album since we wrote it,” she explained on Instagram. “It’s a whole lotta rage.”

Based on what we’ve heard so far, it is crystal clear that Romance is shaping up to be something special. Press play on “Cry For Me” below and let us know if you agree.
