Ali Gatie is one of the breakout stars of 2019 courtesy of “It’s You.” The emotional track caught fire on Spotify, racking up more than 190 million streams and subsequently charted around the globe. It even cracked the Billboard Hot 100, eventually peaking at number 70. The Canadian (of Iraqi descent) R&B singer could have an even bigger hit on his hands with “Used To You.” A brutally honest track about the emotional fallout that follows a breakup, this is as relatable as it is hummable.

“How am I supposed to be alright? Ever since we split apart, no I’m not doing fine,” Ali begins the song. “And I can’t lie, my life’s been really hard. It’s difficult to see the light when life is feeling dark.” The 22-year-old sums it up with admirable simplicity on the chorus. “I got used to you.” The track features alongside “It’s You” and (most likely) “Moonlight” on the newcomer’s debut album, You. It drops on October 18. Listen to Ali’s latest below.
