Camila Cabello’s “Easy” Is The Most Loved-Up Taste Of ‘Romance’ Yet

Camila Cabello really is showcasing all sides of love on her sophomore album Romance. The 22-year-old delved into the heady pull of infatuation on “Shameless” and “Liar.” Next up was the blistering fury of jealousy on “Cry For Me.” Today (October 11), she joins another New Music Friday lineup with “Easy.” And this is easily the most downright romantic song we’ve heard yet. On it, she details a relationship so pure and wholesome that it teaches her to find peace with the darkest parts of herself. “You really, really know me. The future and the old me. All of the mazes and the madness in my mind,” she breathily coos.

“You really, really love me. You know me, and you love me. And it’s the kind of thing I always hoped I’d find.” Camila opened up about “Easy” in a heartfelt Instagram post. “I wrote this song about the kind of love that makes you love yourself more,” the “Señorita” diva explained. “I think before you open up to someone you always feel scared that once they see all the stuff you don’t like about yourself , all the things you’re insecure about, that they won’t like you anymore – and when someone sees those things and loves you not only in spite of them, but because of them, it makes you feel truly seen for who you are , and loved for who you are too.”

This is quite possibly my favorite song off Romance so far. There’s a rawness to the writing that evokes the power of Camila tracks like “Consequences.” It’s really her sweet spot, and this hits you right in the feels. With any luck, it will be one of the songs she performs on Saturday Night Live this weekend. I’m hoping to see her give it a serious push because it deserves to be very, very big. While we wait to find out, fall in love with “Easy” below.
