Neon Lights & Sports Cars: Monsta X Rolls Out “Someone’s Someone” Video
It’s only a matter of time before Monsta X mania grips the US. The K-Pop outfit is building serious momentum with a steady trickle of English-language bops including “Who Do You Love” (their first top 40 radio hit) and “Love U.” But there’s more to the 7-member band than bangers. Monsta X recently showcased their versatility with a romantic, mid-tempo anthem called “Someone’s Someone.” The glossy video arrives today and it finds the guys battling loneliness on a dock and in a neon-lit bar.
There’s also a rainy sequence (a boy band staple) and a bunch of Jaguars. It’s beautifully filmed and allows each member to have a moment to shine. “Maybe this is crazy, crazy just to wonder,” the hitmakers ponders on the chorus. “Wonder if there’s someone meant for you.” Aww. Releasing a one-off single in English is fairly common practice for K-Pop acts, but Monsta X is one of the first to cater to US audiences with both their sound and promo schedule.
