Lindsay Lohan’s comeback single, “Xanax,” popped up on IGTV (of all places) in late September. It seemed like something of an afterthought and a possible hint that the 33-year-old’s return to music was already over, but Lindsay has a message for naysayers. “I wrote this with [ALMA] because LOS ANGELES was mind numbing to me and I felt vapid,” she says of the song in a sprawling Instagram post. “And she was my friend, she understood my thoughts of my past of being dragged through situations that I didn’t want to be in.”
After writing about her family, spiritual journey and many blessings, Lindsay returns to the topic at hand. “Slow and steady wins the race,” the “Rumors” hitmaker promises. “Love all, live with respect, gratitude, understanding and appreciation and you will live an honest life of truth.” She then reveals that the pic — a scrap of paper against a black background will be her “album cover.” (Does she mean single cover?) Oh, and the project will also feature her sister and fellow singer, Aliana. “She’s the light of my life as are my brothers.”
Try to decipher Lindsay’s cryptic update below. In any case, it looks like there’s new music on the way. So that’s encouraging!
