Future Hit: Tones and I's 'Dance Monkey'
The Australian newcomer has a global smash on her hands with 'Dance Monkey.'

Arizona Zervas has a hit on his hands with “Roxanne.” The sing-along track, which falls somewhere between hip-hop and hook-heavy pop, has exploded since being released a couple of weeks ago. It is already one of the 50 most-streamed songs on Spotify and just cracked the top 20 on iTunes’ Hip-Hop/Rap Songs chart. The last single to randomly catch fire like this was Tones And I’s “Dance Monkey,” which went on to top the charts in more than a dozen countries. What’s the appeal? “Roxanne” is, excuse my French, catchy as fuck.

“She don’t wait in lines if it’s too long, she don’t drive the whip unless the roof off,” Arizona describes the titular character. “Only wanna call when the cash out, only take the pic when her ass out.” Despite the fact that she sounds kind of awful, the 24-year-old newcomer is hooked. “Roxanne, Roxanne, all she wanna do is party all night,” he laments on the chorus. “God damn, Roxanne, never gunna love me but it’s all right.” Listen to Arizona’s future hit below. He is definitely One To Watch in 2019.
