Ciara, Major Lazer & IZA Come Together For “Evapora”
Cultures collide on IZA, Major Lazer and Ciara’s “Evapora.” The Brazilian pop star takes the lead, riding the EDM trio’s bone-rattling beats in her native Portuguese. CiCi then joins the party with a punchy verse. “Rocking with Ciara and IZA, everyone to the dance floor,” the “Thinkin’ Bout You” hitmaker commands. “The energy I’m feeling, I want it, I need it.” She then joins IZA for the catchy chorus, displaying an impressive command of her collaborator’s native tongue. Make no mistake, “Evapora” is a language barrier-busting banger.
The visual, which was directed by Felipe Sassi, is every bit as striking as the song. There are the usual hallmarks of a contemporary music video (sexy outfits, twerking and an exotic location) with a couple of twists to make it memorable. For starters, there is the sizzling scene where Ciara and IZA dance together in a glass cage. Also pay attention to the headdresses and glittery accessories. If nothing else, “Evapora” will introduce IZA to a whole new fan base and remind everyone that CiCi is still the queen of high-energy bops.
