Harry Returns With 'Lights Up'
Harry Styles kicks off his sophomore era with new single 'Lights Up.'

Harry Styles pulled double duty on last night’s (November 16) episode of Saturday Night Live. He hosted the iconic TV show for the first time and performed a couple of songs. As expected, one of them was “Lights Up.” The lead single from the Brit’s sophomore LP, Fine Line, sounded even better live and will no doubt be a highlight of 2020’s Love On Tour. As for the other song? Harry debuted “Watermelon Sugar” on the SNL stage, and it’s another flashy indie-pop moment with one foot in the (distant) past.

“Tastes like strawberries on a summer evenin’ and it sounds just like a song,” the 25-year-old croons. “I want more berries and that summer feelin’, it’s so wonderful and warm.” Produced by Tyler Johnson and Kid Harpoon, the ’70s-inspired anthem really soars on the chorus. “I’m just thinking out loud, I don’t know if I could ever go without,” he belts over horns and a chunky bass line. “Watermelon sugar high.” Watch Harry perform the second single from Fine Line (due December 13) on Saturday Night Live below.
