Selena Drops 'Lose You To Love Me'
Selena Gomez returns with an emotional ballad called 'Lose You To Love Me.'

EDIT: Post has been updated with new details including an album teaser video.

Selena Gomez’s third solo album, which is lovingly referred to as SG2 by fans (it’s a long story), has a release date. The long-awaited followup to Revival arrives on January 10, 2020. There is still no official cover art or tracklist, but they are expected to be revealed in the coming days. We do know, however, that the album will include the chart-topping smash “Lose You To Love Me” and viral hit “Look At Her Now.”

While the finer details are still under lock and key, we already know that SG2 will be released in multiple formats. According to Interscope there will be “a standard CD, a box set with custom photos, a limited-edition autographed CD, and vinyl in multiple colors.” Oh, and this is where it gets really interesting. There will be a Target deluxe edition that includes droplets “Wolves,” “It Ain’t Me,” “Bad Liar,” “Fetish” and “Back To You.”

In some ways, I’m surprised that SG2 isn’t getting a Q4 release. That’s the traditional slot for big artists hoping to capitalize on the peak in consumer spending. However, streaming is making that thinking somewhat antiquated and the market place is already clogged with upcoming releases. It will be interesting to see if Selena gives us another single (or two) before January, or just focus on “Lose You To Love Me.” The emotional ballad is still top 10 on iTunes and Spotify, and exploding on pop radio. It could even return to number one in the coming weeks at this rate.
