At this point there is no denying that Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Señorita” is one of the biggest hits of 2019. The slinky smash amassed more than one billion streams on Spotify and soared to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Meanwhile, its accompanying video is rapidly closing in on 800 million views. Those are very impressive numbers. Although it was cruelly overlooked for both Song and Record of the Year at the 2020 Grammys, it is getting recognition in other ways. For instance, today (December 2) it was reimagined by Citizen Queen.

Fresh off the release of covers of Lizzo’s “Good As Hell” and H.E.R.’s “Best Part,” their interpretation showcases the group’s tight vocals. Better yet, it comes complete with a chic video directed by Lauren Dunn. 2019 has been a big year for Citizen Queen who joined Pentatonix on tour this summer. The quintet also landed a viral video with their “Evolution of Girl Groups” back in January. Hopefully they have even more in the works for 2020. In the meantime, watch Cora Isabel, Hannah Mrozak, Kaedi Dalley, Kaylah Sharve’ and Nina Nelson’s take on “Señorita” below.
