Liam Payne Drops Debut Album & Hints At One Direction Reunion

Last week Liam Payne dropped his debut album LP1 to somewhat mixed reviews. The long-awaited project arrived Friday (December 6) and houses previously released hits including debut single “Strip That Down” and recent holiday ballad “All I Want (For Christmas).” He also packed several new songs on the tracklist such as his Cheat Codes-assisted “Live Forever” and “Both Ways.” The former arrived alongside a video directed by Similar But Different (Dani Girdwood and Charlotte Fassler). However, the latter was the subject of much debate on social media for what has been deemed fetishization of bisexuality. More on that from E! News here.

Critics took to Twitter and created the hashtag #LiamPayneIsOverParty to voice their displeasure with the lyrics. Despite the furor, Liam is soldiering on with his promotional campaign. And he’s revealed some exciting news in the process. During an appearance on Sunday Brunch (reported on by The Independent), the hitmaker alluded to the potential for a One Direction reunion. Although he stressed that nothing is set in stone, he predicted that something would be coming in the next few years. “All I know is there is at least two years while everyone’s just released new music where you have to go and promo and do all of that.”

Sounds good to me. One Direction released their last album Made In The A.M. as a four-piece in 2015. After that remaining members Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam went on hiatus to pursue their solo careers. Now that the guys achieved that goal, it makes sense for some sort of reunion to be in the cards. We’ll have to wait for more details. In the meantime check out Liam’s “Live Forever” video below and dive into the rest of LP1 here.
