Foster The People Perform “The Truth” Live For Spotify Sessions: Watch

Foster The People‘s sophomore LP Supermodel is full of musical gems, and one of the best of the bunch is “The Truth.” (It’s actually my own personal favorite, more so than pop-leaning numbers like “Coming Of Age” and “Best Friend.”) Something about the urgency in in frontman Mark Foster‘s voice on the track — not to mention the straight-up crooning he does on the chorus — mixed with the sheer wall of sound the band and co-producer Paul Epworth created on the album version make it a must-have for any 2014 playlist.

So consider us at Idolator tickled that we get to premiere FTP’s performance of “The Truth” from their recent Spotify Sessions gig. Recorded live at Los Angeles’ amazing Village studio, just past the 405 on Santa Monica Blvd., Mark Foster, Cubbie Fink and Mark Pontius (plus a few other musicians) serve up the song and give us an intimate look at what it’s like when they’re left to their own devices and making music together.
