Fifth Harmony Debut New Single, “Sledgehammer”: Listen

The truth is out, no stopping now Harmonizers: Fifth Harmony have got a brand new song for you!

It seems like only yesterday when the girls were in our studio singing their stomping, sassy urban-pop ode to all the independent girls, “BO$$.” But now, with the release of their long-awaited debut LP Reflection just weeks away, they’re already onto the next one.

And this time around, they’ve switched up their sound (yet again) with “Sledgehammer,” a big, throbbing electro-pop production. After the girls made their single announcement via Twitter last night, the song made its official radio premiere on 104.3 FM, which you can now hear after the jump.

The propulsive track is a bit of a return-to-roots for the girls, sounding more like the Better Together pure pop styling of the 5H we first met, similar to a Demi Lovato anthem.

“If you could take my pulse right now, it would feel just like a sledgehammer!” the girls declare. Reportedly, Meghan Trainor was involved in penning this one.

Is this the kind of catchy cut 5H needs to finally top the radio charts? Sound off in the comments below.
