Eminem gets interviewed on public access TV by ... Stephen Colbert?

Eminem just dropped his latest for the Shady Records-produced Southpaw soundtrack — a short Apple Music film for lead single “Phenomenon,” and a song featuring Gwen Stefani titled “Kings Never Die.”

The seven-minute “Phenomenon” video has Eminem waking up in a hospital bed without knowing exactly how he got there, though he quickly starts throwing punches once he sees that everyone else around him — including John Malkovich — is intent on keeping him from leaving. There isn’t much of a plot to this, though there is Randall Park (Fresh Off the Boat, The Interview), who lends the rapper his car but also asks for a selfie — some much-needed comic relief.

Meanwhile, “Kings Never Die” has Em briefly alluding to Southpaw, though mostly attacking everyone else for counting him out in this rap game — as of late, with his marital and family issues a distant memory, the only other aspect of his life that seems to make him tick. Stefani sings the hook, though she sounds too similar to other female vocalists the rapper has featured as of late, most notably Skylar Grey.
