Niykee Heaton’s first official music video arrives tomorrow (“Lullaby” was literally recorded on her iPhone) and it’s shaping up to be a sexy blockbuster with an elaborate plot. Directed by Daps, the plot revolves around a man-eating mastermind — a dream role for the “21 Grams” babe — and her partners in crime, played by Migos. However, like any good film (or video) noir, there’s a twist and they might fall victim to the singer/songwriter’s cold, calculating ways too. I guess we’ll find out soon!
It’s been a breakthrough year for the 21-year-old. After sorting out label differences, Niykee surprised everyone by crashing into the top 5 on iTunes with The Bedroom Tour Playlist — an incredible result for a mixtape comprised of songs that had been available on SoundCloud for a year. The Migos remix of “Bad Intentions” (a track first released in 2014) was then sent to rhythmic radio and promptly became an airplay hit — currently sitting pretty in the top 30.
