Jacob Sartorius Raps On Terrible New Single “Hit Or Miss”

Jacob Sartorius isn’t having much luck with the transition from social media sensation to pop star. The 13-year-old, who is best known for showering fans with affectionate messages on Twitter, dropped his debut single in May and it wasn’t very good. However, that didn’t stop “Sweatshirt” from reaching the top 10 on iTunes — a feat his new track “Hit Or Miss” looks set to repeat. (It’s currently perched at number 11 on the digital retailer).

Tween-pop can be amazing. Justin Bieber’s “Baby” and Cody Simpson’s “iYiYi” are two examples of the genre done right. Unfortunately, Jacob misses the mark again and it comes down to the simple fact that he can’t sing. (The teenager would get booed off the stage at karaoke). Team Sartorius tries to distract from this with copious amounts of autotune and a rap interlude, but it’s still extremely offensive to the ears. Perhaps it’s time to get a vocal coach or give acting a try?
