If your name is Beyonce, Adele, Rihanna, Justin or Ariana, then no doubt you’re very elated with this year’s MTV Video Music Awards nominations. But if you’re Nick Jonas, that’s another story.

The 23-year-old pop crooner found himself shut out of this year’s VMAs, the nods for which were announced today. This prompted Nick to post the following on Twitter: “Disappointed with the fact Close got no love for the #VMAs2016”

“Close,” Jonas’ duet with Tove Lo, was released earlier this year as the lead single off recently-released album Last Year Was Complicated, and the effects-filled, Tim Erem-directed music video for the song proved to be one of the relatively more interesting pop visuals to come along in recent months.

After his initial tweet, however, Jonas’ mood soon shifted for the better, and he added, “Actually after thinking about it more there are so many amazing things happening in my life and career. 9 out of 10 boxes are checked…” He finally concluded that everything, indeed, “is awesome.”

That’s a boy, Nick — lemons, um, Lemonade.
