Is a country music album written in the stars for Elle King? Possibly. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Country, the singer (who’s gearing up to make her second album) revealed that she would “love nothing more than to put out a country album.”

“I write a lot of country songs,” King told the publication. “And I enjoy writing country music, because it brings out a different type of voice for me. I write a lot of heartbreak songs … I like to sing about getting drunk and getting my heart broken.”

Though it isn’t clear if these tracks will ever see the light of day, the singer has dabbled with country music quite a bit recently. She’s collaborated with Dierks Bentley on single “Different For The Girls” and is also nominated for her first-ever CMA award in the Musical Event of the Year category.

“I put out a pop-rock album – I did that,” King said. “This record cycle is coming to a close and I’m about to make Album 2. It’ll be interesting to see how this change affects me. Because everything affects you as a musician.”
