Pop Perspective: Tove Lo's "Cool Girl"
Is this another “Stay High”-sized smash, or has Tove Lo slightly missed the mark?

We all know that Tove Lo’s a cool girl. She sings about drinking, drugs and sex clubs. The Swede has also been known to twerk in church and flash her boobs at concertgoers. So it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that she would strip off for an arty magazine shoot. The pop star covers the latest issue of Fault and poses for sophisticated, occasionally nude pics. Tove also opens up about sophomore LP, Lady Wood, in the accompanying interview.

“[It’s] a double album and there’s a second part coming up with two more chapters later on,” she reveals. “‘Fairy Dust’ and ‘Fire Fade’ are the first two chapters, and the whole album is about the past two years of my life. It’s been a fucking emotional rollercoaster — in the best and worst ways possible. Lady Wood is all about chasing that rush.” Can Tove elaborate? “Sometimes it’s stress, sometimes it’s love, and other times, it’s being high getting off the stage. The album takes you through the different stages: The chase, the rush, the peak, and the downfall.” Lady Wood drops October 18.
