Vanic Teams Up With Maty Noyes For Moody Banger “Too Soon”

After building a following with a string of viral remixes (Major Lazer’s “Be Together” and Tove Stryke’s “Borderline”), Vanic finally got around to releasing his first original track late last year. Voiced by British pop star Katy Tiz, “Samurai” made a huge impression on Spotify — racking up 4.5 million streams and going top 10 on the Viral 50 chart in 11 countries. The Canadian DJ is now ready to take it to the next step with “Too Soon,” a moody collaboration with rising alt-pop singer Maty Noyes.

While “Samurai” was a club track with crossover potential, “Too Soon” is a pop song with electronic production. Co-written by songwriting queen Bonnie McKee (Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” and Britney Spears’ “Hold It Against Me”) and Tommy English, the gloomy banger taps into the emo-dance craze popularized by The Chainsmokers. That’s not to say it doesn’t have an edge. Maty’s breathy, emotional vocal lifts this above your average floorfiller, while Vanic comes through with a colossal drop. Listen to the extremely catchy anthem below.
