Cassie Announces New Single "Make Up"
Finally! Cassie announces her new single "Make Up" on the red carpet at the VMAs.

Cassie really got my hopes up when the R&B diva announced she was releasing a new single called “Make-Up” at last year’s VMAs. Unfortunately, six months have passed and the closest we’ve come to hearing it is a snippet on Diddy’s Snapchat. There might be some light at the end of the (very long) tunnel. The “Me & U” hitmaker teased a new song over the weekend and it sounds beautiful. “All night I’m laying around, I am trying to get it right,” she coos. “Something keeps pushing me back.” I really need the full version.

What else do I know about the track? It samples Tycho’s 2011 electro-lullaby “A Walk” and was probably produced by Mario Winans (he was tagged on the Instagram post). I’m also guessing the title is “Glass Ceiling” from the caption. An eternity has passed since the arrival of Cassie’s debut LP in 2006, but she never really went away. The 30-year-old delivered one of the best singles of 2012 with slinky bop “King Of Hearts” and teamed up with Nicki Minaj for sexy collaboration “The Boys.” Listen to a snippet of her latest below.
