Austin 'Dirty Work' Is Big In Japan
In today's random pop news, Austin Mahone's 2015 single is huge in Japan.

Here’s some good news for you! Austin Mahone is about to rollout new music. At least, that’s what I take from his latest tweet. “New Era…. be ready!” the 22-year-old declared last night. This comes a week after he warned famed radio DJ Elvis Duran that he was coming back with fire. Not only that, but the part-time supermodel has been peppering his social media accounts with studio updates. The surprise (and very belated) success of “Dirty Work” in Japan might be a factor too. There’s nothing like a hit to give you momentum.

Of course, Austin has been focussing his attention on Asia for the last couple of years — releasing a Japan-only album in 2017. There has been a longer wait for new music in the rest of the world. Mixtapes This Is Not The Album and ForMe+You dropped in 2015 and 2016, respectively, while you have to go back to 2014 for the curly-haired crooner’s last official US release, The Secret. He has the voice, looks and swagger to be a major pop star. Hopefully, it all comes together for him this time around.
