Guy Sebastian revealed the cover of his Madness LP on Instagram today (October 23). The black-and-white artwork uses a side-shot of the Aussie superstar, which nicely shows off the ink on his arm. The album drops November 21 in his homeland — an international release will follow — and features 2 Chainz-assisted trap/pop banger “Mama Ain’t Proud”.
Other songs to make the tracklist include the 32-year-old’s recent US single “Like A Drum” and infectious EDM adventure “Come Home With Me”. Guy’s last seven albums have all reached the top 10 in Australia, so there’s a lot of pressure on Madness to keep his winning streak intact. Given the success of the singles, it shouldn’t be a problem. Check out the full tracklist after the jump. More »
Rita Ora posted this TBT (Throwback Thursday) pic on Instagram earlier this morning (October 23) without an explanation. Not that she needs one. The 23-year-old is something of a nude pioneer when it comes to social media, sharing topless pics and even a disturbing kitty snap. [Editor's note: Reminder to have the staff watch And God Created Woman and Viva Maria! and a few other Brigitte Bardot (pictured above) classics. It's not all about Miley and Rihanna and Rita, you know!]
It’s nice to see that recording a classy ballad with Diane Warren — the wonderful “Grateful” — hasn’t damped her spirit. In other Rita news, she’s still chipping away at her sophomore album after ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris took back all the songs he wrote for it. It’s now expected to drop in early 2015. Check out the cigarette-puffing nude the diva posted after the jump. More »
The Veronicas made a successful return to the pop scene in September after several years of label limbo. The Aussie twins scored a number one hit at home with comeback single “You Ruin Me” and even got Courtney Love‘s seal of approval. (An international release is expected early next year). Jess and Lisa unveiled the cover of their self-titled third LP today (October 23) and also shared iTunes countdown single “Line Of Fire”.
If the stripped-back balladry of “You Ruin Me” wasn’t quite for you, the duo’s new song should be right up your alley. “Line Of Fire” is a return to the frantic rock/pop of the Hook Me Up era — albeit with a grungy twist. “Standing in your line of fire, sorry I’m a real bad liar,” the sisters chirp in the soaring chorus. “You just blow me away.” Take a listen to The Veronica’s latest gem after the jump. WALK THE MOON have a hit on their hands with infectious pop/rock anthem “Shut Up And Dance”. The first taste of the band’s sophomore set is steadily gaining ground on radio and hovering just outside the top 100 on iTunes. A blockbuster video is all the Cincinnati-based rockers need to take things to the next level and they well and truly delivered.
The guys take it back to the ’80s in their hilarious “Shut Up And Dance” visual, which finds lead singer Nicholas Petricca burning up the disco in a particularly fetching outfit. He soon lays eyes on the woman of his dreams things soon get really weird thanks to a serious case of dance floor concussion. Wayne Coyne is well known to pop fans as Miley Cyrus‘ muse (her Instagram is a veritable shrine) but the Flaming Lips frontman struck a similar friendship with Kesha back in 2012. That makes the veteran psychedelic-rocker more qualified than most to comment on the diva’s stunning allegations against super-producer Dr. Luke.
The unlikely duo first collaborated on the 53-year-old’s The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends LP and then decided to record an entire album together, the near-mythological Lip$ha. “The stuff that we did together was just spectacular, and it made us want to do more,” Coyne reveals in an interview with Radio.com. “And I think we did like four or five songs, and then Kesha would remind me, ‘Wayne, I can’t put this music out, Dr. Luke will kill me.’
“I don’t know Dr. Luke at all, but when we [Kesha and I] speak, I know there’s some anxiety about their relationship,” he continues. “I think she would like to have the freedom to do more things in that spirit. Where it’s not — again, I don’t know their situation — but where it’s not producers producing her. She could produce herself, that’s probably what she is wanting to happen with her own career.” More »
Nick Jonas and his crazy, envy-inducing abs made another appearance today (October 23). The 22-year-old stripped off for Details magazine and proudly displayed all the muscle he gained for hit TV show Kingdom. (He plays an MMA fighter). The “Jealous” hitmaker posed for workout pics and flexed for the camera. It’s not as raunchy as his underwear shoot for Flaunt but close enough.
And how do you get a body like Nick’s? “When I was getting in shape for the show, I was doing three sessions a day: one fight-training with Kingdom‘s coach, Joe ‘Daddy’ Stephenson, and two strength-building with [my trainer],” he revealed. Sounds like too much effort, so I’ll pass. Check out all the pics from the pop star’s new shirtless shoot up top. More »

Jasmine Villegas completely reinvented herself in 2014. The 20-year-old, who came to fame playing the love interest in Justin Bieber‘s YouTube-conquering “Baby” video, relaunched as a fierce urban-pop diva — complete with a major label record deal and a surprise feature from rapper Kendrick Lamar on new single “That’s Me Right There”.
The rising star recently dropped by the Idolator office in Los Angeles to pose for a photo shoot (above) and spill the beans on this exciting new phase of her career. Jasmine opened up about her upcoming EP (she has a collaboration with Jeremih in the can), writing songs with Nick Jonas and the evolution of her sound. Swedish diva Ji Nilsson had a distinct sense of deja vu when she first heard Gwen Stefani‘s new single “Baby Don’t Lie”. She felt the song ripped off her own 2014 single “Heartbreakfree” and jumped on Twitter to (very politely) express her surprise. “People all over the internet are saying @gwenstefani s Baby Don’t Lie sounds just like my previous single ‘Heartbreakfree’!” she tweeted.
The Scandinavian singer/producer also retweeted a supporter’s comment about imitation being the greatest form of flattery, before giving a longer explanation when Gwen’s fans started trolling her mentions. “I have not been sitting around waiting to say that a famous artist copied the production of my song,” Ji lamented. “Blogs started to write about it and people agreed so I listened to Baby Don’t Lie and yes, I agree that the production sounds alot like Heartbreakfree.”
She actually has a point. The production does sound very similar, which may or may not be a total coincidence. Ji should probably take that up with Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco (who produced “Baby Don’t Lie”) but I sincerely doubt Gwen has ever heard the actually-rather-great “Heartbreakfree” in her life. Compare both songs after the jump and see the aggrieved pop star’s tweets. More »
Sister Cristina, a 26-year-old Italian nun, became an overnight YouTube sensation when she performed Alicia Keys‘ ballad “No One” on The Voice Italy earlier this year. She went on to win the competition, generating enough interest along the way to land a US deal with Republic Records. The divine diva is now promoting debut album (due November 11) with a cover of Madonna‘s “Like A Virgin”.
My initial reaction to Sister Cristina’s unfortunate song choice was to bathe my ears in holy water but she has her reasons. “I chose ‘Like A Virgin’ because I wanted it to bear witness to God’s power to move all things!” she said in a statement. “I see it as God’s touch, when he called me to a new life, giving me back the purity and dignity of being his Daughter and being Loved by Him.” Ok, sis. Chill. Her interpretation of Madonna’s classic is actually kind of sweet. Watch pop’s coolest nun in action up top and check out her snazzy album cover and tracklist after the jump. More »
