Apr 24th, 2012 // 1 Comment

We are more than ready to get our hands on American Idol Season 10 jazz-pop lady Haley Reinhart‘s debut album, Listen Up!, which drops May 22. The 21-year-old singer co-wrote nearly every track on her first post-Idol release, including the B.o.B-assisted opener “Oh My!” and the song “Wonderland”, which will follow “Free” as the LP’s next single (and should be premiering online any minute now). Head below for Listen Up!‘s track listing, and a shot of Haley doing some Baywatch roleplaying as she works a red hot lifeguard uniform on the album’s back cover.

Scissor Sisters‘ cinematic “Only The Horses” music video wasn’t the only treat the band sent galloping out of the pipeline today — they also unveiled their cover art and tracklist for fourth studio album Magic Hour (out May 28). The zebra present on the “Only The Horses” single art has found some friends here, and the clairvoyant animals are gazing into a crystal ball out in the desert. As for the music, there are 13 proper songs, a bonus track called “F*** Yeah” and two remixes. Contributors to Magic Hour include Calvin Harris, Pharrell Williams, Diplo, Alex Rihda of Boyz Noize and . Head below for a look at the full tracklist. And fingers cross that “Self Control” is a Laura Branigan cover! More »

Kanye West‘s “flu” has just been downgraded to a common “Cold.” Yeezy’s Kim Kardashian-approved song “Theraflu” has lost its attention-grabbing brand name and been redubbed with the shiver-inducing title “Way Too Cold,” which at least sounds like a condition that might then lend one to need to seek out some Theraflu. But the recently-unveiled album artwork isn’t nearly so chilly — featuring a decapitated, bare-breasted woman in a fur coat whose head has been replaced by a tiny bottle of milk. (Now that’s a condition not even Theraflu will help with.) See the artistically-NSFW cover below. More »

Adam Lambert‘s profile — and oversized circle frame glasses — make an appearance on the cover art for “Never Close Our Eyes”, the second single off his sophomore album Trespassing (May 15). Glambert tweeted out the single cover of his Bruno Mars-penned tune today. For those hoping for something a bit more upbeat than “Better Than I Know Myself”, don’t be dismayed by the low-key acoustic performance Adam delivered last month: the studio recording is absolutely bangin’. Rihanna Is Incognito On Her “Where Have You Been” Single Cover

Apr 11th, 2012 // 3 Comments

Yes, that eyeball you’re seeing belongs to the one and only Rihanna, posing for her “Where Have You Been” single cover art. Did the ultra confident siren suffer a sudden wave of camera shyness? While RiRi isn’t afraid to go shirtless in the single’s upcoming video, the pop star is barely visible on the cover art. Ironic, as the Battleship co-star has been highly visible these past weeks while promoting her upcoming action flick, Battleship. Rihanna, we know exactly where you’ve been lately: Japan, London, Sydney — oh, and outside Ashton Kutcher’s house.

We’re only four months into 2012, and we’ve already got a handful of nominees for Worst Cover Art of the Year. Fiona Apple‘s The Idler Wheel cover is a chaotic headache, and both the standard and deluxe edition covers of Nicki Minaj‘s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded are a paint-splattered mess. And now there’s Maroon 5‘s album art for Overexposed, which we’re assuming is what an episode of The Simpsons looks like if you’re on acid.  More »

Fiona Apple Reveals Album Cover & Track List For ‘The Idler Wheel’

Apr 2nd, 2012 // Comment

Fiona’s long-awaited album The Idler Wheel (we can’t be bothered to include the 20 other words in the full title) will be released on June 26, and with the collection of new tunes from the singer-songwriter comes some, shall we say, interesting album art. Hoping for something a little bit more pleasing to the eye, a la Fiona’s cover art for debut album Tidal? Eh, sorry. We recommend you check out our exclusive live pics from the artist’s SXSW set instead. Track list below. More »
