Every day brings us closer to the impending release of Charli XCX’s Charli. The album isn’t due to arrive until September 13. But thankfully, it seems as though we’ll be getting tastes from the star-studded tracklist up until then. We’ve already bopped along to “1999,” the 26-year-old’s first of two collaborations with Troye Sivan. After that, she treated us to a duet with Lizzo called “Blame It On Your Love.” And next up is a heavily teased song featuring Christine and the Queens called “Gone.”
Charli hopped online this afternoon to reveal that the anthem drops a week from today (July 10). She paired the glorious news with a meme proclaiming “this shit fire.” Of course, fans are already familiar with the track. Why? Because the duo live-premiered it during a show back in May. Based on footage I’ve seen, it sounds like a serious smash. And it gets even better. The twosome has already shot a video. “Just calling from my water bottle to tell you we might have a banger on our hands. Good we just wrapped a video for it,” Christine tweeted last month.
“JUST SAW THE FIRST EDIT OF THE GONE VIDEO & ITS SO GOOD OMG,” Charli enthused a couple days later. Based on that, I’m expecting something major. While we wait to see what they have in store, check out the announcement below.
