This item from the weekly PopBitch email got our attention: Which rock star is known for liking a lot of oral attention while away on a video shoot or tour? Groupies are looking to cop a good feel this year as he’s back on tour. Hmmm. A “cop” who’s “back on tour”? More »

Prefuse 73’s One Word Extinguisher is the sort of album that turns us into even worse writers than usual: How can anyone describe the music of Barcelona-based DJ and producer Guillermo Scott Herren without digressing into such nonsensical stand-bys as “blip-blop keyboards” or “slapping beats”? It’s a few years old, but “Beep Beep Cyberbaby” by the Elks Skiffle Group–a band that claimed to be made up of puppets–is still as sweet a slice of synth-pop as it was when we first downloaded it from Vitaminic over a crappy dialup connection. More »
