Fifth Harmony Teases New Single On Snapchat
Fifth Harmony teased a new single called "Down" on social media over the weekend.

Fifth Harmony’s first single as a four-member group is something of a triumph. “Down” is a bouncy banger with an insidiously catchy chorus and a cameo from Gucci Mane. It also does a better job at showcasing their individual talents than their old material. Lauren Jauregui kicks off the song with a sultry verse. “I need somebody with some patience, cause you know I got a temperament,” she sings over a hypnotic beat and finger snaps. “And yeah, you got a reputation, nothin’ that a little love can’t fix.”

Each member shines as the song progresses, but Normani Kordei has the cheekiest part. “You the type that I could bake for (bake for),” she coos, “Cause baby, you know how to take that cake.” The ladies all come together for the catchy chorus, which is reminiscent of the less-is-more approach of “Work From Home.” “Long as you’re holding me down, down, down,” they sing. “I’m gon’ keep lovin’ you down, down, down.” The similarities aren’t surprising. After all, “Down” was written by Ammo, songwriter/Star actress Jude Demorest and DallasK — the team behind their biggest hit. Listen below.
