Sabrina Carpenter Teases "Smoke And Fire"
Sabrina Carpenter returns to the pop scene with fiery new anthem "Smoke And Fire."

Sabrina Carpenter reinvents herself with “Smoke And Fire.” After exploring sunny country-pop on debut EP Can’t Blame A Girl For Trying and then stripped-back singer/songwriter fare on debut LP Eyes Wide Open, she changes direction yet again. Co-written with Ido Zmishlany (Shawn Mendes’ “Life Of The Party”), the catchy break-up anthem finds the 16-year-old embracing a bold pop sound. It’s catchy, confessional and easily her most credible offering to date.

That’s also reflected by the video, which premiered over the weekend. The visual begins with Sabrina walking into a ballet class. However, she can’t keep her bad boyfriend off her mind and eventually succumbs when he turns up to distract her. It’s not exactly Black Swan, but there’s an element of maturity that might surprise Girl Meets World (her hit sitcom) fans. “Smoke And Fire” is a very promising start to the starlet’s sophomore era. Watch up top.
