This is going to be big. Jessie Reyez recruited Normani and Kehlani for a remix of her breezy bop, “Body Count.” The 27-year-old breakout star released the single to warm reviews earlier this year. Produced by The Rascals and Babyface, it is a defiantly sex positive anthem. She also made waves with the accompanying video, which was inspired by Puritanical witch hunts and saw her burnt at the stake. Yesterday (August 21), she confirmed rumors of the forthcoming remix. “It’s true…Friday,” the Canadian star wrote on Twitter. She also shared the official single cover, which features animated versions of the three hitmakers posing in front of a pink background.

The colorful aesthetic works well with the buoyant production, and the star-studded lineup all but guarantees a hit. Kehlani seems to have the golden touch. She has lent her voice to a bevy of anthems including KYLE’s “Playinwitme,” which dominated Spotify this summer. Things are going even better for Normani right now. The Fifth Harmony siren kickstarted her solo career with a solid hit after linking up with Khalid on “Love Lies.” The slinky single landed on the Love, Simon soundtrack and has steadily climbed the Billboard Hot 100. This week it hit the number 11 spot and went top three on Pop Radio. It is easy to imagine the trio replicating the feat with the right push.
