Justin Bieber Cancels The Remaining Dates Of His ‘Purpose Tour’

Justin Bieber isn’t a stranger to a little self-sabotage. Today (July 24), the singer announced that he is cutting the Purpose World Tour short, cancelling the last 14 dates that were scheduled to run through October. An official statement released by his team cites “unforeseen circumstances” for the cancellation and promises to refund all tickets purchased by fans. However, TMZ, who broke the news, is reporting that he is alleged “over” the tour and ready to move on.

The hitmaker has been on the road since March of last year and has performed more than 150 shows during that time. The official statement thanks fans and apologizes for the disappointment of the cancelled shows. “Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over the last 18 months,” adding that he is “grateful and honored to have shared that experience with his cast and crew.” Ironically, the hitmaker extended the tour due to it’s overwhelming success last year, announcing a string of shows in Latin America that took place earlier this year.

The tour has been a controversial one for the “Sorry” crooner. Last year, Justin abruptly cancelled VIP meet and greets on the tour after photos of the superstar looking disinterested went viral. He also found himself in hot water for forgetting the lyrics to summer chart-topper “Despacito” and frequently told off fans for poor behavior while he was on stage. More recently, he was banned from performing in China with the country citing his multiple run-ins with the law as a reason to forbid any future performances.
