Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Paula Abdul & More React To News Of Hugh Hefner’s Death
In the hours since it was announced that Hugh Hefner passed away last night (September 27), social media has been flooded with messages of appreciation and respect for the founder of Playboy. Countless musicians and pop icons shared kind words and reflected on his impact on their lives and culture.
The news brought longtime friends Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton together to reminisce about the legendary parties hosted at Hefner’s mansion. They flooded their accounts with emojis of Playboy Bunnies and Hugh in honor of his death. “So sad to hear the news about Hugh Hefner,” Paris tweeted in one message. “He was a #Legend, innovator & one of a kind. We had so many fun & incredible memories together. I will miss him dearly. Rest in Peace my friend,” she added alongside some pictures.
Former cover stars including Aubrey O’Day, Jenny McCarthy and La Toya Jackson thanked the 91-year-old for the opportunity to pose for the magazine. “Loved working with him..what an honor,” the dumblonde siren wrote. McCarthy shared a similar message, thanking Hef for “being a revolutionary and changing so many people’s lives.”
Musicians including Charlie Puth, Juicy J and The Weeknd joined in to share simple messages. As did Paula Abdul who revealed that she was watching Amazon’s documentary on Hefner when she got the news. One of the most poignant messages came from Pamela Anderson. “I am me because of you,” she said in a caption alongside a tearful video. “Thank you for making the world a better place. A freer and sexier place. You were a gentleman charming, elegant, chivalrous And so much fun. Goodbye Hef … Your Pamela,” she ended her messaged with a lipstick print.
