Demonoid was a pretty handy all-purpose tracker, and you never knew what unlooked-for gem would pop up next, even though it had a kind of "wild West" feel - quality control was never exactly guaranteed, and there were lots of links to external torrents.

Leaving aside the "morality" question, the concern over whether a reborn OiNK would be "invite-only and super-duper secret" is - or should be - a practical one; it isn't elitism for its own sake.
