Ke$ha Talks Bisexuality & Bullying In ‘Seventeen’: Read Her Craziest Quotes

Trash-pop diva Ke$ha may have cleaned up her act a little on the cover of Seventeen magazine (that kitten shot!), but she’s as fearless as ever in the accompanying interview, covering a litany of subjects from haters to bullying. (That may not be a “litany,” but you get the general idea.)

The biggest revelation, though (which probably isn’t actually that much of a revelation because, y’know, it’s Ke$ha, and also we’ve heard this type of thing from many other female performers before), is that K$ explained that she isn’t too particular when it comes to her partner’s gender: “I don’t love just men,” she said. “I love people. It’s not about a gender. It’s just about the spirit that exudes from that other person you’re with.” And also a resemblance to Mick Jagger, right?

Her bisexuality aside, Ke$ha also reiterated the importance of being not only a GLBTQ ally, but defending anyone who deviates from the norm: “I’m all about standing up to gay/lesbian/transgender bullying, but it’s also about my little brother,” she said. “He’s 13 and he gets made fun of because he has a stutter. I just have zero tolerance for people making fun of others.”

And as for the haterzzz? Rest assured that they got some attention, too: “I remember every person who told me I couldn’t do something or that I was ugly or too fat,” she said. “Even after I got through my awkward phase, got my braces off and figured out how to dress my body, people in the music business were like, ‘You’re never going to make it. I see them now and I’m like, ‘Ha!'”

Say what you will about Ke$ha, but she knows how to give good quote. Read more over at Seventeen.
