Nicole Scherzinger Rocks Hard Rock Cafe At Her KIIS FM Showcase

After a couple of false starts, Nicole Scherzinger’s solo career finally appears to be gathering some serious momentum. Earlier this year she scored a #1 hit in the UK with “Don’t Hold Your Breath”, and is currently climbing Billboard‘s Hot 100 here in the States with her 50 Cent-assisted smash “Right There”. The future X Factor judge is pulling out all stops to ensure Killer Love is a success, and dropped by the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood yesterday to promote her album with a showcase for radio station 102.7 KIIS FM. Details from Scherzy’s showcase below!

The water-loving singer, looking seriously sexy in a feathered jacket, leather shorts and sky-high stilettos, kicked things off by donating an old Pussycat Dolls costume to the restaurant chain. She spoke fondly about her time in the hugely successful group, and after a brief interlude, the 33-year-old returned to belt out her current Top 40 hit “Right There”, accompanied by four dancers, knocking the Esther Dean-penned anthem out of the park.

That showstopper was followed by a dance remix of the PCD  ballad “I Hate This Part”, which allowed Nic to show off her powerful pipes. It sounded amazing (though we already knew just how great a live performer she is), but delving that far into the past seemed unnecessary given the abundance of hot tracks on her album — which we were told would now be released in November, by the way.

Enrique’s “Heartbeat” duet partner then closed the show with her next single “Don’t Hold Your Breath”, complete with dizzying choreography and more hair-whipping than Willow Smith could stand. It may have taken longer than expected, but this former Doll is finally flying high while going solo.
