Rihanna’s “Where Have You Been” Video: Watch

As we surmised from the behind-the-scenes looks at Rihanna‘s “Where Have You Been” video, the Barbadian beauty gets back to nature — and downright tribal — in her latest clip, which has now debuted in full. At the beginning, the huntress-like singer rises up out of a marsh, looking as fierce and dangerous as an alligator. We next see her with a veil covering a portion of her face as she dances with a tribe among the rocks in a desert. Then the mood shifts as Rihanna, with her hair teased out, arches up off a zebra skin in a dark hut and proceeds to bump and grind with a pack of dancers. Watch above, and prepare to be preyed upon by RiRi on the prowl.

By the end of the Dave Meyers-directed video, Rihanna appears to have gone through a trippy transformation, and, clearly satisfied, she returns to the marsh and submerges herself as a muscly crew of men writhe in the water around her.

It’s an off the wall (but still super glam) visual that thankfully finds RiRi sidestepping the club setting her peers often turn to and exploring her more arty side. And who knows — after “You Da One”, “Talk That Talk” and “Birthday Cake” failed to reach the soaring heights of Rihanna’s lead Talk That Talk smash single “We Found Love”, maybe this bizarro video for “Where Have You Been”, another Calvin Harris collab, will give the singer a second hit off the album.
