Rita's 'Anywhere' Is A Delight
Rita Ora gets it very, very right with oddball new single 'Anywhere.'

After six years of setbacks and false starts, Rita Ora’s sophomore LP finally arrives on November 23. And Phoenix is shaping up to be something special. After introducing the album with the Ed Sheeran-penned “Your Song,” the Brit really hit her stride with “Anywhere” — an oddball pop anthem that stood out as one of last year’s best singles. She kept the momentum going in 2018 with “Let You Love Me” (I’m choosing to forget the ill-fated “Girls”) and recently blessed us with buzz tracks like “Velvet Rope” and “Cashmere.”

Rita unleashed another cut today (November 21) and “Falling To Pieces” is one of my favorites. “You’re such a fool but so am I,” she sings about a stalled relationship on the mid-tempo bop. “I may be twisted, you’re unkind.” What sets this apart from the standard breakup anthem is that there is no assignment of blame. This is just one of those things that didn’t work out. “We’re falling to pieces, all of the pieces come undone,” the 27-year-old laments on the chorus. Listen to the Watt & Digital Farm Animals-produced song below.
